Morning Blend on Mater Dei Radio: “Quiet Millionaires”
A Quiet Millionaire: Someone doing well financially, but you wouldn’t necessarily know it. They aren’t flashy, they don’t buy the biggest, newest things. They make better lifestyle choices and avoid “Keeping Up With The Joneses”.
There are some habits consistent with Quiet Millionaires. Here are a few:
- Cars: They often drive reliable, practical cars. They’re often not brand new cars and they likely paid cash for it. No financing, car payments, etc. They don’t view their vehicle as a status symbol but rather a mode of transportation.
- Housing: They are living in generally nice, safe neighborhoods. But their housing cost is well below what they could afford to pay each month for their housing. They know that if their income drops, they’ll want that breathing room. Oftentimes, their home is not any bigger than is necessary, inside and out! The bigger the yard, roof, etc. the more it will cost to maintain.
- Well-Kept Items: They take good care of their belongings. Their house, their car, their yard, everything! They take pride in what they own, no matter what its monetary value is and therefore take good care of it.
Ultimately, the Quiet Millionaire still spends money but their spending often closely aligns to their values. They’re intentional with each dollar they spend.
Anybody can become a Quiet Millionaire. Start looking at what you spend your money on. Does it align with your values? Make the shift towards intentional spending and you may find yourself a Quiet Millionaire.
