Morning Blend on Mater Dei Radio: “Plan for Retirement in Your 50’s”
Planning for retirement in your 50’s! That’s what Brenda and Ashley Micciche discussed on a recent interview on the Morning Blend on Mater Dei Radio.
Entering your 50’s means new priorities, and retirement should be one of them. Your 50’s are a great time to focus on paying off larger debts, like a mortgage, in order to prepare for retirement. This allows people to do things such as travel, or other activities, once retired that they may have overlooked if they had debts hanging over them.
Most people in their 50’s are earning more now than they were before. In many cases this means you can save more too, but not without a bit of discipline. Saving as much money as possible, such as maxing out 401k and retirement accounts, can be a great way to plan for retirement in your 50’s. Already maxed out your retirement accounts? A catch-up contribution can be a great solution.
